Stone axes & celts

A selection of ax heads carved and ground from different materials including quartzite, verde antique and swanton red marble. These designs are speculative and not intended to be reproductions of known Abenaki weapons or tools. I haft some of the better heads in a pre-contact style.

These are multi-purpose tools. They are made from Swanton red marble and the gray stone is a river stone slightly ground to aid in shaping arrow shafts.
