  • Kwalaskonigan kamgwahôzo nônnoak minitak kezabadak ala nônnôkaw minitak tkebagak (Soak corn husk for 5 minutes in hot water or 10-15 minutes in cold water)

  • Ligba-pikawtaha Kaskakwalaskonigan pabasiwi (Fold lengthwise a wide husk in half.)

  • Niga, pikawtaha pabasiwi memhôwigan ta tasahôwigan (then fold in half from bottom and top)

  • Kwalaskonigansis wlitôzo w’dep. Pikôgna dasto aligwigwek w’dep, pona waskijigek pikawtahwôganek (Take a small husk to make her head. Bend over and squish it to head size, place at the top of the fold/ place in long husk up at the fold)

  • Kelabido wiwniwi wkwedôganek wji wjat chitamiwi (Tie around the neck tightly with sinew)

Waji wlitôzikil mpedinal (to make the arms)

  • Kaskakwalaskonigan kaskak ta kwanak.(Take a wide and long husk)

  • Segweskôbassem nhenol chichigwigekkil pesigiaal nanôwiwi. (tear one end in 3 narrow pieces to the midpoint of the husk.)

  • Niga chitamôbageniga ta kelabido wiwniwi wji wjat matanaskiwi wlitoan melji (Then braid tightly and tie around with sinew at the end to make the hand)

  • mpedin pidigato Kwalaskoniganek kwahliwitta wkwedôganek ( the arm is put inside the cornhusk right near the neck)

  • Chitamôbageniga agômiwi ta kelabido wiwniwi wji wjat matanaskiwi waji wlitôan melji (braid tightly the other side; tie around with sinew at the end to make the hand.)

Waji wlitôzikil mkôdal ta mdolka (Making the legs and the stomach)

  • Kadawaka iawnol kwena kwalaskoniganal; Pono nisnol kwahliwitta wpedin alnakaiwi ta pono nisnol pôjiwi. (want to use four long cornhusks; place 2 near arms on right side and place two on left side)

  • Kadawaka pazegwen kwenak kwalaskonigan; (want to use one long cornhusk; take a longer husk)

  • Winato nisnol nitkwaljial (encircle it around two fingers)

  • Pona kwalaskonigan wji pemaiwi pasojiwi wdelegwi (place in husk from on the side of the body near the armpit)

  • kelabido wiwniwi wji wjat wlitoan mdolka. (tie around with sinew to make the stomach)

Nikwôbi mkôdal (now legs)

  • Chebahla pôjiwi kwalaskoniganal nhenol pesigiaal; (separate left side cornhusks into 3 pieces)

  • Niga chitamôbageniga ta kelabido wiwniwi wji wjat matanaskiwi wji wlitoan mezid (Then braid tightly and tie around with sinew at the end to make the foot)

  • Awaka pahami kwalaskoniganal waji tôtadbeskwaikwanikhaman wji mkôdal (use more cornhusks to have made the exact same length for the legs/ You may need to add in some narrow husks as you braid so the legs will be equal lengths)

  • Chebahla alnakaiwi kwalaskoniganal nhenol psigiaal; ( separate right side cornhusks into 3 pieces)

  • chitamôbageniga ta kelabido wiwniwi wji wjat matanaskiwi waji wlitoan mezid (braid tightly and tie around with sinew at the end to make the foot)

  • tmezna noskigek wjat (cut off the extra sinew)
